BCG School for Deaf Children : Varanasi
The school has142 students; nearly all of them are from economically poorer section of the population. The school has 12 teaching professionals, but does not have a teacher for English and Indian Sign Language. There are no computers in the school and teachers lack working knowledge of computers. The teaching medium is in Hindi and not in English. In a country like India, most of the official work is done in English.

MSIHA has started a state of the art Computer Center with 5 Computers loaded with software designed for education of deaf children and hired 2 teachers to teach English, Sign Language and Computer Skills.

This project has been possible because of the assistance from the American School of the Deaf, West Hartford, CT- which is the oldest and the largest deaf school in USA and Dr. Madan Vasishta, Professor of Gallaudet University, Washington D.C- the only Graduate University for hearing handicapped in the world.

An audiometer and oto-accoustic emission machine has been bought and a early detection program for young children is being started.
